Why Choose Us?
At Manners and Moxie, we believe that good manners are the foundation of confidence, whether you're networking, attending formal events, or just interacting in your everyday life. We teach etiquette not as a set of rigid rules, but as a way to empower you to make meaningful connections, create lasting impressions, and navigate today’s cultural norms with poise.
Why Manners Matter?
First impressions are lasting, and the way you carry yourself speaks volumes before you even say a word. At Manners and Moxie, we help you understand the power of presence—whether it’s how you greet someone, conduct yourself at a meal, or manage digital interactions. Proper etiquette fosters respect, builds trust, and can be the key to unlocking personal and professional opportunities.

What is Moxie?
Moxie means boldness, courage, and determination. It's the drive to be your best, even when faced with challenges or unfamiliar situations. In today's fast-paced, ever-changing society, having moxie helps you stand out while still being respectful and considerate. Combining traditional etiquette with modern confidence, Manners and Moxie helps you cultivate both.

Meet Ashonte’ Franklin
Hello! I’m Ashonte’ Franklin, the founder of Manners and Moxie, and I’m passionate about helping people build confidence through the art of etiquette. My journey began at an early age, much like the one I’m now embarking on now with my 9-year-old daughter, who has inspired me to launch this business. I attended etiquette school as a child, and the skills I gained have had a profound impact on both my personal and professional life.
I spent 12 years as a military officer, where I had the privilege of serving as a project officer for various ceremonies and events. This experience allowed me to learn and teach the importance of military traditions and protocols, where attention to detail, respect, and poise are essential. These values translate seamlessly into everyday life and are key components of the courses I offer.
My academic background includes a B.A. in Psychology and an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources, which has equipped me with a deep understanding of human behavior and organizational development. Over the last 8 years, I’ve had the opportunity to develop and facilitate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training for both corporate and military environments, helping teams create more inclusive and respectful cultures.
In addition to my work experience, I’ve served on the SHRM Jacksonville Board of Directors for two years as the Diversity Director, where I helped shape diversity initiatives within the HR community. I also hold a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and an Etiquette Consultant certification, combining my passion for people with my expertise in etiquette and leadership.
At Manners and Moxie, my mission is to help individuals of all ages develop the confidence they need to thrive in any setting, using timeless etiquette principles as a foundation. I believe that good manners and boldness (or "moxie") are the perfect combination for navigating today’s modern world, and I can’t wait to share these skills with you.
What We Do
Testimonials
Enrolling my son in Manners and Moxie’s Children’s Etiquette course was one of the best decisions I've made. The sessions were engaging and fun, and he learned so much about social skills, from greeting others to table manners. I’ve seen a real boost in his confidence, and he’s now more polite and respectful in everyday interactions. Highly recommend this course for any parent!
